The PEER4U project stems from the pressing need to promote inclusive and equitable education in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the European Education Area 2020–2025. Despite policy progress, gaps in educational outcomes between learners with and without disabilities remain significant across Europe.

PEER4U’s main goal is to empower secondary education teachers and students with methodologies, tools, and peer-to-peer mentoring approaches that foster equality, integration, and active participation of students with disabilities in all classroom activities. The project directly addresses teachers, school leaders, students, and their families, while also benefiting education professionals working with children with disabilities.

More specifically, the project’s objectives are:

• To empower teachers with training and methodologies for managing diverse classrooms through equality, co-education, and co-inclusion.
• To establish structured peer-to-peer mentoring procedures, encouraging students to actively support and collaborate with their disabled classmates.
• To provide teachers with practical resources and digital tools, such as evaluation systems and e-learning platforms, for professional growth and recognition.
• To cultivate an inclusive classroom climate that enhances students’ social skills, mutual reciprocity, and collaborative attitudes as a foundation for a more inclusive society.

Expected results include:

• The PEER4U Pedagogy Guide, offering innovative teaching methods for inclusive classrooms.
• A Classroom Evaluation Tool to monitor progress and outcomes.
• A Digital Learning Environment to support teachers and students.
• Wide dissemination activities, including a dedicated website, social media channels, newsletters, podcasts, and participation in educational conferences and events.
• A transnational training seminar and hybrid events engaging schools, teachers, and local communities.

Encouraging collaboration and exchange of expertise among partners, PEER4U includes 4 organizations (ERGASTHRIO EIDIKIS EPAGGELMATIKHS EKPAIDEUSIS PERISTERI – E.E.E.EK PERISTERI, XENIOS POLIS, SYNCHRONI PAIDEIA, and ARSINOE) from 2 countries ([Greece], [Cyprus]).
