The motivation for GAMES4CHANGE comes from the need for universities to modernize their teaching methods and educational approaches, especially in fields outside of technology, like the humanities and environmental studies.
Digital games, particularly “serious games,” hold significant potential as educational tools that connect higher education with real-world issues, such as climate change and environmental protection. Studies have shown that digital games can enhance student motivation, engagement and learning outcomes, using interactive and enjoyable methods to teach important topics. However, despite their proven benefits, many educators lack the guidance and tools needed to incorporate digital games into their teaching.
