The ProtectED Project – Prevention of Technology-assisted Child Sexual Abuse through Digital Education (Project Number: KA220-ADU-8D7108F1) addresses the growing need for action against technology-assisted child sexual abuse. Technology-Assisted Child Sexual Abuse (TA-CSA) is particularly dangerous in an era of increasing internet use by children. It has devastating consequences for victims and can escalate into physical sexual abuse. ProtectED equips adults responsible for safeguarding minors (parents, educators, professionals) with the knowledge and skills to prevent and respond to Technology-Assisted Child Sexual Abuse.
Main objectives:
a) To develop a high-quality interactive digital course on TA-CSA for educators, parents, and other professionals working with minors.
b) To reduce the risks of digital transformation by enhancing the digital readiness and competence of adults who support minors in digital environments.
c) To utilize prevention and adult education pedagogies to create an engaging and effective course, based on the social constructivist framework, for learning protective online behaviors.
By integrating education, experiential learning, and the use of digital technologies, ProtectED paves the way for a safer digital future.
ProtectED includes 5 partners from 4 countries: KNOWLEDGE DIMENSION S.L. (Spain), XENIOS POLIS, Culture, Science and Action (Greece), Reményt a Gyermekeknek Közhasznú Egyesület (Hungary), PEDAGOGICAL INSTITUTE OF CYPRUS, and UCLAN CYPRUS LIMITED (Cyprus).
