On May 20, 2025, in the context of the course ‘Social Economy and Social Entrepreneurship’, an Info Day was successfully held at Harokopion University, in room A6 of the main building. The event aimed at presenting the European project GREENO2, implemented by XENIOS POLIS from Greece.
GREENO2 is an innovative European project funded by the European Union that focuses on promoting green roofs as hubs of environmental education, community participation and sustainable development in urban universities. The event provided participants with the opportunity to learn about the main project activities, exchange views and discuss the prospects of integrating green infrastructure in higher education.
Particular emphasis was placed on the link between environmental sustainability and social innovation and the use of green roofs as laboratories for learning, research and active student participation. The GREENO2 approach is aligned with the priorities of the European Green Deal and the EU’s climate change and biodiversity strategies.
Objectives of the GREENO2 project:
International Cooperation and Project Partners:
The project is implemented by 8 partners in 6 European countries (Greece, Spain, Italy, Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Spain):
Active Student Participation & Open Dialogue
The event encouraged the participation of students, who had the opportunity to interact with the project partners, ask questions and explore ways of integrating green practices in their own educational environment. In particular, the role of the social economy in promoting environmental innovation was highlighted, reinforcing the current trend of green social entrepreneurship.
