Dear WorkAbility community members,

Welcome to the second edition of our newsletter, where we continue to unravel the inspiring journey of the WorkAbility project. As we explore the project’s ongoing efforts to promote inclusivity, we are eager to unveil the most recent advancements and narratives that underscore the significant impact we aim to make in the field of adult education for individuals with changed working abilities.

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: ADVANCING EQUALITY IN ADULT EDUCATION

 

In this issue, we revisit the central priority of WorkAbility — to increase participation and improve outcomes in adult education for those with changed working abilities. Discover the initiatives and strategies we’ve employed to ensure equality by providing opportunities for all.

WHAT’S NEXT: A GLIMPSE INTO THE FUTURE OF WORKABILITY

Get an exclusive preview of the upcoming milestones and future plans for the WorkAbility project. As we chart the course ahead, we invite you to be part of the exciting journey towards a more inclusive society.

We are in the final stages with the development of our second result, the Job Platform’ specifications for soft skills self-assessment. This tool will be crucial for increasing people with disabilities’ capacity for professional autonomy, providing a baseline for fine-tuning the training course contents and tailoring the training to trainees.

We’ve also been working on developing the materials for our third result, Soft Skills for employment – course portfolio. The course will be highly flexible and modular and it will support social workers to access curated content and train people with changed working ability (with great focus on young people) on developing their human capital potential.

Taking advantage of our second staff training in Budapest, which took place last September, we focused on testing the content of the training program, to identify how it could be improved to enhance its impact. The modules, as designed by the WorkAbility consortium, cover the following soft skills: social ability and interpersonal interaction, leadership, self-efficacy, motivation to work, affiliation, and self-awareness.
