WAKE UP is a project aimed at addressing a recent phenomenon that is becoming more and more popular, the Metaverse. According to experts, the Metaverse isn’t a specific platform or brand, but a new virtual space that overcomes the limitation of screens by combining real and virtual environments. This virtual reality can be accessed through special devices such as virtual or augmented reality glasses with which users can interact with other users and with which communities, products, commerce, workspaces, entertainment, creators and much more, become connected.

There are several risks that have already been associated to the metaverse such as physical risks, psychological risks, digital consent, data and cybersecurity, personal identity.

On the other hand, the metaverse can open many doors to opportunities that aren’t currently available to everyone creating more accessible resources and options for people to become someone that was out of their sphere of possibilities.

WAKE UP is the project that will educate about the drawbacks and benefits of the metaverse to ensure its most profitable exploit.

WAKE UP includes 6 partners (Asociación Valencia Inno Hub, Stowarzyszenie SEDA, ATERMON B.V., PANEPISTIMIO THESSALIAS, Xenios Polis Culture, Science and Action, M.M.C MANAGEMENT CENTER LIMITED) from 5 different countries (Spain, Poland, Netherlands, Greece, Cyprus).
