Access4All: “European Conference for Disabilities & Inclusive Societies”- Athens, 13-14/10/22

The final partner meeting for Access4All (Awareness and Capacity Building for Changes in Policy Schemes for Disability towards Inclusive Societies) was held in Athens Greece on October 13th, 2022.

XENIOS POLIS organized the “European Conference for Disabilities & Inclusive Societies”, under the auspices of the Municipality of Athens, at the premises of Serafio of the Municipality of Athens (19 Echelidon & 144 Pireos). 

The partners from Austria, Italy, Cyprus, Spain, Greece and France joined the conference in person. During the conference, the partners presented the IOs of the project as well as the digital educational e-platform of Access4All. A number of people such as young professionals and members of the municipality of Athens attended the conference. In addition to the presentations completion of the presentation of the module (IOs) by the partners of the project, there were 3 guest presentations. At first, the Vice Mayor of Social Solidarity of the Municipality of Athens, Katerina Gagaki, gave a speech titled: “The accessibility policy of the Municipality of Athens”. Then, Kalliopi Gkika, a representative of the Tactual Museum of Athens gave a presentation titled: “Tactual Museum- Hollistic accessibility for visitors with total and partial vision loss”. The conference was concluded by the presentation of Niki Chatzihalepli, Deputy Headteacher at the special vocational school, with the title: “Educational and work for people with disabilities. Two concepts that are a challenge for Greek society”.

On 14 October, the final meeting was held by the project partners. The meeting was attended in person by all partners (XENIOS POLIS, Tandem Plus, BildungsLAB, CSI, CulturePolis, SANSAT, RESET, Inno Hub). The meeting emphasized the dissemination part of the project and there was an extensive discussion about the next steps of Access4All. Plans were made to discuss new projects related to the programme as well as proposals and sustainability actions.
